The challenge

In 2020, as work moved remote almost overnight, a group of entrepreneurs approached Velocity with a plan for a collaboration platform with video conferencing built in rather than bolted on. The vision was clear. What they lacked was a business strategy, a route through platform development, and a plan for entering a market that was suddenly crowded with well-funded competitors.

The work

Business strategy

We started with a market analysis of trends, competitors and barriers to entry, and used it to build the value proposition, market positioning and a detailed go-to-market plan with the founders.

Platform development

Drawing on our technology network, we defined the features that would set the product apart — high video quality, real-time collaboration tools and AI-driven meeting assistance — and kept user experience at the centre of the build.

Beta testing

We organised a beta with several mid-sized companies. Their feedback drove a series of refinements to functionality and interface before launch.

Funding

Recognising that the build needed significant early capital, we prepared a financial model projecting growth and returns and supported the team through venture fundraising. The model helped attract several investors.

The outcome

The platform launched in early 2023 and stood out for its video quality, integrated collaboration tools and ease of use. The founders credited much of their early progress to the strategy, technology and commercial guidance through the engagement. Velocity continues to support the business as it expands into new markets and develops the product.
